During our spiritual awakening, we literally “wake up” to life and begin to question old beliefs, habits and rules. We see and feel there’s much more to life than what we were taught. Spiritual awakenings mark the beginning of our healing journey and spiritual paths, but can sometimes be shocking, painful unsettling periods of our lives. Often people who experience awakenings feel as though their lives have been flipped upside down, which can lead to depression, self-isolation, and chronic anxiety. This group is a forum to gather, listen, unlearn, learn, and educate one other without the fear of being judged or ridiculed.
This group is for humans to connect and provide opportunities to share their insights, experiences, and personal challenges while being supported on their journey of awakening/healing. Simultaneously this an opportunity for people to learn how to listen to one another in a space of reciprocity and openness. Please leave all political opinions and discussions at home.
We welcome all races, backgrounds, religions, spiritualities, sexualities, genders, etc.
The Awakening is for real people, actively participating in the real world, but spiritually waking up to something very surreal. The spiritual Awakening may occur slowly or it can occur suddenly which can be scary and challenging. This group is dedicated to those beginning their spiritual journey and seekers who have already begun to explore the ancient intelligence within.
This community or sangha was created with the intent that we need each other. We live in a society that glamorizes separation and hyper-independence. As we flow through the healing journey, you may begin to feel even more alone. Have no fear, this is normal. But know there are people out there looking for a hearted centered community too. This may or may not be your community, but you are welcome to come give it a try.
Glenda Hoon Russell, founder and author of The Status Foe will facilitate this monthly gathering. As a spiritual teacher and nature therapy guide, she will bridge the space between the practical and spiritual. Glenda’s years of study and her own shift from corporate executive to spiritual guide, have guided her to teach spirituality concepts to those on their healing journey. Glenda's teachings are derived from lineages such as Buddhism, Hinduism, and Daoism, and teachers like Mother Nature, Neem Karoli Baba, Ram Dass, Mooji, Thich Nhat Hahn, Christ consciousness and many many more. The foundation of her teachings are “Love one another. Serve one another. Remember God.”
